The Patriots must have decided it wasn’t worth putting the franchise tag on Samuel this year. On Friday, he signed a 6 year deal with the Eagles. I am disappointed as he is a tremendous cornerback who has provided many needed breaks during key games. He has been a solid defensive player and always is a thorn in Manning’s side. And I always like that.

IN an ESPN article, Belichick denies ever taping a teams walk though, even his own. He states that he has not spoken more about the accusations during the regular season to avoid a lot of distraction for his team. Obviously, we know he asked to have the Jets defense signals taped as he admitted tot hat to the commissioner. I hope that he is telling the truth here when he says he knows nothing about any walk through being taped. I am glad to see Belichick finally speaking out. While he still sounds defensive in some of the statements, maybe this shows he is telling the truth. Hopefully we’ll find out soon. As a very passionate Patriots fan (if hyperventilating and bursting into tears at the end of the Superbowl is any indication) I am devastated to think that this whole time there has been all this fraudulent taping going on. I believe we have a good team and have had a good team for a long time. This is not how I want the Patriots of the 2000s to be remembered.

Well, I got to watch most of the second half of last nights Patriots game. There was lots of yelling and groaning as I watched the Patriots stall on drives and time tick away to what looked like the first loss of the season. “No not to the Ravens!!” was pretty much my only thought. Losing is probably inevitable but I’d rather lose to the Colts or Steelers than a team that isn’t even at 500. So as time winded down I found myself resorting to the “I’ll hide in the bathroom now” technique that helped win the Superbowl a few years ago. It was a crucial 4th down that if missed would end the game. I couldn’t watch it so I went to the bathroom and came back to find that a miracle had occurred and the Patriots got the first down. And then proceeded to score. Thank God!! I kept my fingers crossed during that hail mary pass and am very thankful that 52 was there to make sure the Ravens receiver could not get in the end zone. Time expired and the Pats go on to be 12-0!!! While they probably shouldn’t have won the game, I am still very happy. Good time to be a Pats fan for sure. Next week will be a battle and could be the end of our run, but it is in Foxboro so that says something. I look forward to seeing if the team can run the tables and go undefeated.

Well, no one can accuse the Patriots of running up the score with last nights win. It was a nail-bitter for sure and I did my fair share of yelling at the tv, despite my soar throat. It was probably the worst effort the Pats have had this year and yet they still won. I say this shows that they are a Championship team. I know that they have been kind of….overdoing it with the scoring in recent games. Some of it I think does stem from the scandal while I think a good part of it comes from the philosophy of “beat me if you can.” Frankly, I am glad last night was a game and not a blowout, although a little cushion would have been nice. I’m glad the Patriots are still undefeated and I look forward to many more wins.

Go Pats!!!!
