poop duty sucks
Well a good portion of my weekend was spent either cleaning up after or actually cleaning my cat, Lovebug. He is a little chunky and occasionally has issues with being able to clean his nether regions. And because of this he sometimes accumulates some poop in his fur.
Ugh!!!
So after cleaning up my desk from some….spots….and conducting other poop maintenance, I had no choice but to tackle the issue of my cat.
So yesterday and today I had to clean my cat’s butt. And yes this was as gross as it sounds but necessary. The poor kitty didn’t know what to do. He kept trying to bite me but is too fat to do so.
I think this means I’ll be able to handle a baby’s diaper when the time comes.

My cat Love Bug means so much to me. I already knew this, as I fell in love with him the moment we walked into his particular cat room at AAWL almost 8 years ago and he came right up to us and wanted our attention.
But being home this week has completely validated that for me as he has hardly left my side, and has laid next to me on the couch- where I am designated while being sick -almost nonstop. All I have to do is tap the couch and he is there. The other day he even slept on my tummy!
It has been really great just laying there, resting and patting my cat, while Scott takes care of me.

I entered our cat, Love Bug, into an online pet contest several weeks ago now and tonight I checked and he is “best in show.” This means that as of 11pm on May 14th, he is top animal in the cutest pet contest. I am very excited about this and made Scott come and look. I think it is a very cute picture of Love Bug and if you want to vote for him, please do!
Go to Daily Paws and vote!!!

This eco-friendly pet store has been open for four months but I only just heard about it. It is on my “must check out” list.

Ask anyone who really knows me and they’ll tell you I absolutely love pets, cats in particular. I have a cat named Love bug who I adore. There is something very relaxing about cats and it is so comforting to sit and pet my cat while watching tv or reading or whatever.
But while I love cats, I am not so sure about spending $22,000 on one. Especially one that is a mixture of the African Serval and Asian Leopard cat with a domestic cat. This breed is called the Ashera and it also comes in hypoallergenic form as well for just a few more thousands of dollars.
The cat looks like a wild animal that could easily eat any small pets you may have in the home. While they appear very magestic and almost regal, I don’t think paying that kind of money for an animal is really that justified. It actually seems kind of wrong.

This totally epitomizes Love Bug’s life. If he’s not sleeping then he’s preparing to sleep or letting us know how tired he is. What a life!

Love Bug absolutely loves his cat tree. We purchased this over 4 years ago and it has gotten lots of use. He especially loves the very top perch, where he is in this picture.

As I stood there taking pictures of my cat, I was able to catch the exact look and motion he does when Scott is coming from the other room.

Today was a wonderful day. Scott and I got to sleep in, which is a real treat for us. I had my morning coffee while we both fiddled on our respective computers. After taking a shower, we decided to head out to AAA, with the hope of gathering some information for our honeymoon. We are trying to decide between Hawaii, Alaska or mainland US. It has proved to be a very frustrating decision. After meeting with a travel assistant, we determined we would most likely just plan the trip ourselves, especially is going to Alaska. We enjoyed a nice lunch at Blimpies before heading home to pick up the dog for a short hike.
Scott, I and Sipapu enjoyed the Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail. The desert is really green right now which made the hike even better because the scenery was that much more appealing. Aside form a small rabbit hopping in the desert when we pulled into the trailhead, we did not see any wildlife. Papu did a really great job on the trail, aside from not having manners when we encountered two other hikers with dogs. He apparently has never seen a dog before. It was a great afternoon and it felt really good to be active.
After a brief rest at home, we headed out to the Apple store to drool over the new MacBook Air, which we both would absolutely love to own. While there we checked out the new Nano and the iPod Touch. There is a strong likelihood that I will be getting the iPod Touch sometime soon, to condense my electronic devices from 3 to 2, as the Touch appears to have decent PDA functions (minus a to do function). We’ll stew on that for a while to make sure the right decision is made.
The day was capped of by a dinner at Lone Star. This was our first dinner excursion at this restaurant. We’ve had lunch there many times. We both enjoyed our meals and of course each others company. It was a great way to end what had been a really good day.

This is a shot of Lovebug after he was shaved at the groomers. He know sports a sleek look in the body area with slightly longer hair on his head, legs and tail. He seems to be enjoying the new look.
