can’t AZ get some love?
LOL.
The Daily Show shows no mercy as it went after the AZ Legislature!!!!
Scott and I know the rep that The Daily Show’s Jason Jones “inspected.”

Monday night will find Sheriff Joe Arpaio on the Colbert Report at 830pm.
I don’t know if I should be happy or sad about this.
Arpaio is missing an important border violence meeting to be on the show.

Thanks to Scott I now know about this Culture Pass
If you have a library card you can go a check out a “Culture Pass,” which will provide up to 4 free admissions to various places such as museums. Times are hard for so many of us right now and this will provide a way for people to still go out and enjoy themselves. And for families to do things together. And for our city not to become stagnant in the economic turmoil.
How awesome is that!
I can’t wait to spread the word at work.

Scott sent me the link to this interview with Barack Obama and I must say it is worth reading. It is not the typical interview. Instead of asking about the economic crisis, war in Iraq or health care, this interview focuses on pop culture. In particular its goal is to find out about Barack the man- who watches TV and listens to music just like we all do.

I just finished watching Grapes of Wrath on my MacBook Pro. We got the movie through Netflix several weeks ago and Scott finished watching it on his way back from DC a week ago. So while laying on the couch tonight, I plugged in my earphones and watched it on my laptop. It worked out great as Scott was in the room playing his XBOX 360 and I didn’t have to worry about interrupting him.
Very cool. I am excited to be doing more of this when I have down time at work and on plane rides when I do travel.

When I heard that Tim and Willy were returning to KMLE I wondered where they would fit in. I had no idea that it would be to replace Dave Pratt. Dave Pratt and the gang made the mornings enjoyable and fun. And he had a following that knew no music boundaries. People who followed him when he was covering rock made the transfer over to country when Pratt did. That’s pretty amazing and shows how well he does his job. He makes a connection with his listeners. I always enjoyed the banter he and his crew had and like I said, mornings were better. I am just shocked that they let him go without really any warning at all. I think KMLE will see a severe drop off in listeners, at least during the morning hours because of this.

Last night, I got together with my friend Amy. The plan was to go see the 8pm showing of The Ruins at the Arizona Mills Harkins. So I got to her place around 715 and after some visiting we headed tot h theater. We were both looking forward to the movie, me because I love to see scary movies and Amy because she also likes these types of movies AND she read the book.
But our plans were thwarted at the ticket counter when we were told that there is no 8pm showing. So we had to scramble to pick a movie to see and we chose Prom Night. This was pretty much a mistake as it turned out to be just like all the other teen scary movies, such as “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “Scream.”
I will admit I did jump throughout the movie as I am easily spooked by things coming out of closets or around corners if I am not expecting it. But I also spet a good part of it laughng at how ridiculously predictable the movie was.
So the moral of the story is, always have a backup movie picked out to avoid last minutes, snap decisions that could turn out to be a huge mistake.
Luckily we salvaged the night by catching up on our lives, as it had been months and months since we last got a chance to hang out.

A friend of ours highly recommended to Scott that I see the movie, Once. Kate told him that it would change my life. So last week we got it through Netflix and I watched it last Friday. It is a really good movie. I personally don’t consider it life-changing but it is a wonderful story complimented by a beautiful soundtrack. It is a pseudo-documentary of two artists who find each other and through music tell their love story. The movie makes you feel like you are privy to parts of peoples lives you wouldn’t normally see– the struggles and heartache. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend renting it. I don’t think you’ll be sorry.

Shanna and Robert, very dear friends of ours, were caught by the Diamondbacks “Kiss Cam” at a recent Diamondbacks game. In an email Shanna sent out she states:
After being on the “Kiss Cam” at the Diamond Backs game, I have been busy telling myself that it was no big deal, no one saw.
Well, lots of people saw it as that night “Kiss Cam” was featured on Keith Oberman’s Oddball segment of Countdown. It is a brief but cute moment of fame and I am very proud to say I know those two.
Oh, and they are the couple right before the guy who kisses the goat!!!
