The horror of this story is hard to fathom. A possibly mentally ill man followed 2 young, harmless boys into a nearby park and beat them severely in the head. Then walked back to his home. The boys suffered such extreme injuries that they both died a day after Christmas. Thanks to a neighbors surveillance camera the police were able to identify the man and arrest him. Just leaves me speechless that such things occur in this world. I work in the mental health arena as a crisis counselor, and it scares me to think anyone of the clients I have seen could have this inside them.

Wow! In a little over 24 hours we will be on our way to Texas for our Winter Road Trip. We are hitting all of the National Park Service units in Texas on this trip, mainly so we will not have to rush back anytime soon.
We will be camping most of the nights, with only three nights in hotels. Our goal on this trip is to actually camp and cook meals at our campsite. We want to limit the amount of eating out.
Hopefully my estimate of the trip cost (approx $900) is accurate. And maybe if we watch our spending we can actually come i under budget.

Watching the game today made me a little homesick for New England. But just a little bit. I totally would have loved to be in Foxboro to watch the Arizona Cardinals get killed by the Patriots.
People assume that as I live in Phoenix, I must be a Cardinal fan. Nothing could be further from the truth. I grew up in Massachusetts and will forever be a New England sports fan.
Go Soxs! Go Pats! Heck, even go Celtics and Bruins! (I don’t really watch basketball or hockey).
It is great to see the Patriots doing well, without Brady. But I miss him and hope he recovers nicely. And quickly.
