and people still deny global warming?

Two news articles I read recently are painting a very scary and urgent picture for the world. If we don’t start making drastic changes in the next 20 or 30 years we will potentially see severe results such as species extinction and continued severe weather. I live in Arizona. I am not looking forward to having 110 plus degree weather more days than not. Yesterday I think was the 12th straight day of over 110. I can only imagine that this trend is going to continue and we will remain in a drought. As a country, we need to start making the changes that scientists and other professionals have been demanding for years and we need to do it soon.

waiting to get our number called

Here I am waiting patiently (and full of excitement) in the Indio County Clerk’s office where we went Friday to get our marriage license. As you see in the picture I am so ready for this, with my driver’s license and bank card out, ready to complete the process.

This day was so important and so special for our relationship and for me personally. I appreciate Scott taking pictures throughout the process to commemorate this important day. Thanks for understanding me so well, babe!

my bridal shower cake

Yesterday was a a wonderful day!

My truly exceptional friends, Molly and Tami, hosted a bridal shower for me that was everything a bride could ask for. There was great atmosphere, great food, and spectacular company. I was so amazed at the decorations and time that went in to making this shower so special to me. I have waited a long time for this day and it was worth every minute!

Thank you so much, Molly and Tami. And thank you to all my friends who helped make the day even better!!

I am still smiling and giddy for the whole experience!

interesting…

Scott sent me this link and I must say, it deserves some contemplation. Shoes that are like gloves. How’s that for a draw in?!

I love my cat

My cat Love Bug means so much to me. I already knew this, as I fell in love with him the moment we walked into his particular cat room at AAWL almost 8 years ago and he came right up to us and wanted our attention.

But being home this week has completely validated that for me as he has hardly left my side, and has laid next to me on the couch- where I am designated while being sick -almost nonstop. All I have to do is tap the couch and he is there. The other day he even slept on my tummy!

It has been really great just laying there, resting and patting my cat, while Scott takes care of me.

being sick sucks

This past Saturday I woke up at three in the morning with one of the worst sore throats I have ever had. I laid there for a little while before realizing sleep is going to allude me. So I got up, took medicine and proceeded to stay up for four hours due to a wierd burst of energy. I have been miserable since. My sinuses won’t quit. My throat is extremely irritated and I have frequent spurts of being all sweaty. Ugh! I go to the doctors at 4pm today so we will see.

help me understand

Even after having over a week to digest what happened on I-10 two Thursdays ago, I still can’t grasp that a 24 year old man was hit by possibly 20+ cars. To the point that he was extremely dismembered and DPS does not think they will be able to gather enough…ummm..tissue to test whether the man was intoxicated.

In my world, once say the 3rd car hit him, traffic should have come to a stand still. I personally would have tried to block lanes if I had witnessed what had happened. They say it happened early enough in the morning, that commuters were going 75 miles and hour and rush hour had not hit its peak when cars would have been only going 35 MPH. No matter how you look at it, it is pretty disturbing. Incomprehensible, actually.
